Cedar Krispies® Christmas Trees
Rice Krispies® Christmas shrubs are an exciting hobby for little ones on holiday trips using this standard Rice Krispies® recipe and garnished with your favorite desserts.
ingredients
cooking spray
3 tablespoons salted butter
1 package (10 ounces) regular marshmallows
3 drops meal coloring, or as needed
6 cups crunchy rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies®)
Decorations:
14 pieces of biscuits, or as needed
1 tablespoon sprinkles, or as needed
1 (7 oz) organized white frosting bag
14 sweet stars, or as needed
Step 1
Spray a 9″ x 13″ oven tray with cooking spray.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a giant saucepan over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth, three to five minutes. Add meal coloring, three to four drops at a time, until you have your favorite color. Stir until the coloring is uniform. Remove from heat and add crunchy rice grains. Stir with a buttered spoon until the grains are completely coated and evenly green.
Step 3
Pour the cereal mixture into the organized baking tray and press firmly. Add the granules to the top and press. Leave to cool and set, 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 4
Cut the grain mixture in the skillet 1/2 lengthwise to make two sections. Cut each area into about 6 or 7 small triangular tree shapes and swap them into a board. Carefully roll 1 piece of pretzel at the base of each triangle as a “trunk”; If the triangle breaks apart, press them down together.
