Delicious candied pecans are great for adding to salads, desserts, ice cream, as holiday gifts, or just as a sweet snack treat. This simple recipe for candied pecans can be made on the stove top or baked in the oven.
Most candied pecans recipes are made by coating the nuts with a cinnamon sugar mixture and toasting them in the oven. This method takes about 45 minutes and the end product is amazing! Crunchy, candy-coated nuts with the perfect roasted nut flavor.
These can also be made on the stovetop. If you are in a hurry and want to add some candied pecans to the salad, do it on the watering hole. They will still taste great.
How to make candied pecans in the oven :
Preheat the oven to 125 degrees C.
Mix the sugar, cinnamon and salt in a bowl.
Whisk the egg whites and water in a separate bowl until frothy. Stir the pecans into the egg white mixture.
Then mix the sugar mixture with the pecan mixture until the pecans are evenly coated. Place coated pecans on a baking tray.
Bake, but note: stir every 15 minutes while baking until pecans are browned. This can take up to an hour.
